WEDDING PLANS LATELY + MY FAVORITE RESOURCES

Photos by: The Bearded Bousman Photo Co.
I hope you're having an awesome week so far! These photos are from the other week when Nicole Toledo Makeup Artistry, with Beauty Lounge Denver, did my makeup. I ran home and got cute and then Jordan and I took some shots that were a little more glam! I'm still so amazed at how perfect the look is! Ah - so good!
It's about 250 days until Jordan and I get hitched! I mentioned in a previous post how stressful all the planning can be. Today, I want to share some of my favorite online resources that have helped make planning so much easier for me.
TO DO LIST
One thing that has majorly helped us is having a to-do list. And by "majorly helped" I mean - it's been the only guide we can truly rely on to give us the correct due dates and lead time to make decisions. There are lots of options out there, but the one I really like is WeddingWire's Checklist. I just plugged in my Wedding Date and the checklist automatically schedules your to-do's the perfect amount of time before the "I do's." ;)
PERFECT WEDDING INSPIRATION
I go back and forth between loving and absolutely hating this next one. Pinterest! Oh man, it's sooo good for getting all the inspiration you could ever want, but that's also the curse. I get information overload when I'm on Pinterest. I end up thinking I have to spend way too much money to keep up with each beautifully styled photoshoot and I can get so unrealistic! But, for the preliminary stages, or any time I get "Wedding-block" which is where I can't figure out what to do next or what to choose - Pinterest is the way to go to get unstuck.
QWIRKY WEDDING INSPIRATION
Green Wedding Shoes is such a good place where you can get permission to be yourself! Don't want a white wedding dress or clear diamond ring? Green Wedding Shoes has brides with dresses and rings in all colors of the rainbow! Want some awesome DIY centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Creative and new ideas are all over this website.
BUDGET
The best way to overspend and go way off track is to not start out with a budget. If you walk into a shop and just say "Ooh! Shiny!" and "It's worth it!" You'll get yourself into a world of trouble. Instead of spending all your money on the wedding, think about what else you want to buy after you're married. A honeymoon? A home? All these costs add up. So set up a budget right away! I like this one from WeddingWire because it shows you where you are in the process as you go!

ETIQUETTE TIPS
There are sooo many rules when it comes to hosting a wedding that leave me asking the question "What's the proper etiquette in this situation?" Thankfully, my mom took on the role of etiquette researcher. A friend gave us this book The Everything Mother of the Bride Book and it has been tremendously helpful! Who do you invite to a bridal shower? How do you interact with the future in-laws? It answers those questions and more!

SOCIAL MEDIA
This is one of the fun things you get to do when hosting a wedding: Choose your wedding Hashtag and set up a Geofilter. It's so fun though, that you might skip it in leu of something more urgent on your list. Don't forget to stop and smell the roses by coming up with a fun hashtag with your groom and friends. You will love it because you can easily find everyone's photos of your big day afterwards. It's actually really easy to make a Geo-filter too! WeddingWire's Snapchat tool gives you three easy steps to follow to get your filter up and running.
These are some of my favorite places on the web to get inspiration and help when planning such a big day. I hope one of these tools sticks out to you and that you find it helpful in the months to come! What are your favorite wedding websites, tools, and inspiration places? I'd love to hear in the comments below or you can email me directly at hollycanonblog@gmail.com!
