Hey, everybody! I hope you're having an awesome week so far. Mine is OK - haha I've had appointment after appointment the past few days and feel like the end is still no where in sight. Some are fun though! Tonight, I'm going to try on my Wedding Dress again! Turns out, I'm too tall for the average dress! They say they can steam and stretch the material to hopefully add some inches. Otherwise, I'm definitely wearing flats on the day of. I'm fine with that now, but, I'm not gonna lie, I had a major meltdown when I first discovered my dress was a little bit too short for me. I've been one of the tallest in all my friend groups for forever - so I'd rather not feel "too tall" on my wedding day!! Anywayyyy...

Today, we are talking about Enjoying our time while traveling! And we're gonna start with the planning process! Personally, I can get overwhelmed when trying to plan a trip. When I've never been someplace before it can be hard to wrap my mind around the location and not worry about missing out on something really fun or missing out on a "must-see." So, here I've gathered a few tips I've learned to use to cut down on FOMO and enjoy the entire planning process - which makes it easier to enjoy my trip once I get there! I'm actually using these tips right now as Jordan and I plan our Honeymoon to Thailand. Hopefully, these tips get us all excited and ready to travel more this year.

Get Inspired:

I've usually already picked my location because I was inspired by pictures on Instagram or it's someplace I've always wanted to go. If you haven't picked your destination consider the time of year you wish to travel, what neat things are going on around the world then, and what the weather will be like in your dream get away and go from there!

Get to Know the Area:

Next, I browse through some trip planning websites to get an idea of what I want to do. I usually open up Google Maps in my browser and Trip Advisor to start. I try to get a feel for the area and the activities available.

Get the Most Out of Your Time:

When planning a trip, every decision hinges on how much time you have. How much time can you get off of work? How many days can you spend in one location? How much time do you have to do all the things you want to do in each day? So, take into consideration the length of all your activities. Using Grand Cayman as an example, will you be going on an all-day excursion or just a half-day tour? Maybe choose a morning snorkeling trip and an evening at a fun restaurant or spend the morning on the beach and go on a sunset dinner cruise.

Let's just pause right here! Of course, you'll have to consider your budget, what kind of lodging you need, and how to get from point A to Point B, but I'll save those topics for another post because, with so much to think about, it can be easy to stop enjoying the planning process and make it a chore! And this year is all about enjoyment, right? So as you explore the web and get ideas for your trip, try to remember that nothing is set in stone yet. You might have a tentative plan, but as long as you haven't booked anything, it can all change around however you like! Just enjoy the idea of visiting a new location and trying out the things you can't experience at home!

What are some places your thinking about traveling to this year? What are some of your bucket list destinations and what do you hope to experience while there? Are there any questions I can answer for you about traveling in general or a location specifically? I'd love to read about your dream vacations and your questions in the comments below! I hope you all have a great rest of your week and as always...

Thanks for stopping by,
