DISNEYLAND & CALIFORNIA SUNSHINE

Hey, everybody! I hope you are having a great week. Jordan and I just got back from a trip to Disneyland with two of his sisters, his brother-in-law, and his niece & nephew. One of his sisters in still in High School and couldn't go. We definitely missed her, but can't wait to see her perform in her school musical at the end of this week!
This past weekend I realized that Disneyland is starting to grow on me. If you've been following the blog for a little while, you probably remember that I used to work for Walt Disney World in Florida. WDW is the park I grew up going to and the park I know like the back of my hand, but Jordan's family grew up going to DL, so they love and know this park best! I think I finally really really enjoyed myself this time because I didn't get super confused and turned around in Disneyland. (Magic Kingdom and Disneyland have a very similar layout so it can get confusing when something is not where it is in the other park!)
We rode the newest ride: Guardians of the Galaxy, which use to be the Hollywood Tower of Terror. While I AM sad to see the classic ride go, let me tell you that this new ride is sooo fun! I think the imagineers did a fantastic job using the classic elements of HTT and bringing them to new life. I won't spoil it for you, but this is a ride you've gotta check out next time you go to either Disneyland or Walt Disney World!
We also stayed in the Disneyland Hotel, which I've never been in before because we've stayed at Grand Californian the last few times and I LOVE all the details in this hotel. I wish I had taken pictures for you, but there are cool details like hidden Mickeys in almost all the carpet and Mickeys on the faucet handles, and white gloves holding up the lights in the bathrooms like Mickey is personally holding a candle for you haha.
And the BEST part was the headboard, which is in every room. It has Sleeping Beauty's Castle and fireworks carved into the wooden headboard with teeny lights that sparkle when you flip a switch. It also plays "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" as the castle, fireworks, and stars on the headboard twinkle! It's so cool - I thought the attention to detail there was so well done!
Jordan's little niece was the cutest when she met different characters throughout the weekend. At one point she was "sharing" her half eaten churro with Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore. It was the cutest thing! I can't wait for Jordan and I to have kids in a few years and take them with us to Disney and have their big cousins show them the ropes. That'll be a really fun trip!
Right before we left, we got another caricature done of Jordan and I. This is our 3rd trip to Disneyland together and our 3rd caricature. We love how each artist interprets us differently! It is always so funny to see the drawing of ourselves for the first time! I highlighted the drawing on Instagram, so if you want to see this year's version head over here! We did a bit of a camping theme and asked the artist to draw my engagement ring on my hand. Next time we come back, we'll be married so we'll get another with Jordan's ring in it too!
Well, this is a short a sweet post, today! I've got LOTS to do to catch up from a weekend away and a little bit more Wedding stuff to plan. Although, that's almost wrapped up too. I can't believe it's getting so close, and I also just wish it were here already! I am ready to marry my man!
Have you guys ever been to either of the Disney parks? What did you think and which is your favorite? I'd love to hear in the comments below!
Thanks for stopping by!
