THE WILDFLOWERS

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful week so far! Jordan and I are in Kauai, Hawaii this week and it's so beautiful here! I can't wait to share photos with you next week. For now, you can follow along on Instagram to see a few Insta-stories (videos) of what we are seeing!

My mom came into town for Mother's Day weekend and we had such a sweet time together. We went wedding dress shopping and I think I picked out the ONE during my very first appointment. I'll still check out a few other shops just to make sure I have seen everything that's out there, but I'm pretty sure I'll come back to this one!

On Mother's Day we took Mom to Punch Bowl Social. They were having a special buffet brunch - it was delicious - and they were also letting mom's try to bowl a strike for a prize! After brunch, we had a few hours to spare before Mom had to hop on a plane back home, so we took her over to the Denver Botanical Gardens. Mom and I had driven past it while out dress shopping, and decided we really wanted to see what was inside.

These are some pictures of us wandering around and checking out the plants. It is incredible to me how many shape and colors God made all the trees, plants, and flowers. He is so creative and He made it all for us - what a loving God!

In the last blog post, we talked about the tireless gardener who works throughout the winter, unseen, keeping plants in check, keeping the grounds clean, and preparing everything for Spring. He does not always get the credit he deserves, but he's there working when no one is watching. We drew an analogy between the human gardener and the Master Gardener - God who works in our lives, sometimes unseen, preparing us for different seasons in our lives.

The day we walked through Denver Botanical Gardens, Mom, Jordan, and I recognized the creativity and beauty displayed by our creator in the blooming garden. From a distance, the garden appears to be a blur of greens. As we got closer, though, we saw the detail in each plant. The twists in the petals, the splotches on the leaves, the symmetry, and the multitude of colors - it was beautiful!

Today, I hope you take a look through these photos and begin to realize that if God cares enough to create such detailed beauty in a lousy plant, He cares so much more about YOU - an intricate human made after His own image! You are loved. You are unique. You are beautiful.

Matthew 6: 25-34

“So I tell you, don’t worry about the things you need to live—what you will eat, drink, or wear. Life is more important than food, and the body is more important than what you put on it. Look at the birds. They don’t plant, harvest, or save food in barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them. Don’t you know you are worth much more than they are? You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it. “And why do you worry about clothes? Look at the wildflowers in the field. See how they grow. They don’t work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that even Solomon, the great and rich king, was not dressed as beautifully as one of these flowers. If God makes what grows in the field so beautiful, what do you think he will do for you? It’s just grass—one day it’s alive, and the next day someone throws it into a fire. But God cares enough to make it beautiful. Surely he will do much more for you. Your faith is so small! “Don’t worry and say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ That’s what those people who don’t know God are always thinking about. Don’t worry, because your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things. What you should want most is God’s kingdom and doing what he wants you to do. Then he will give you all these other things you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Tomorrow will have its own worries."
